A fab week in Exmouth

Last week we drove to Exmouth for a great week by the sea.  The weather ranged from raging seas to blistering sun.  A fabulous week of fun, laughter and getting wet!  Paddle boarding around the coast and finding a small blow up dingy under the caravan which we squeezed into and took out on a thankfully mirror flat sea as we capsized it a few times.

Spent a few fun days off work. Spent Friday at the 'Bristol Free Balloon Festival' with Jerry - which was definitely free! not a ballon in sight. Too much wind - but a great day.  Spent the weekend in Taunton - a bit of paddle boarding at Lyme Regis and Seaton. A great weekend thanks all.

Paris in June

Just returned from a fabulous fun few days in Paris.  Leaving early on Friday 2nd to catch the Eurostar and arriving in Paris late afternoon. Staying in the Montparnasse area which is full of street cafes with lots of hustle and bustle - a great spot to stay.

Walking into the city each day, we took in the Rodin Museum, Le Orangerie, The Louvre, had picnics in the parks, Saint Chappelle, trawled the shops for bargains and ate good food.

Returning home on Tuesday after a blessed time in Paris.  The weather was great, the Rodin sculptures where brilliant, Monets Water Lilies where fantastic and the company was just lovely.

A busy few months

The last two months have been a bit frantic but very enjoyable.  Theres been garden makeovers, a few birthday parties, a wedding in Clevedon, Sudeley Castle, picket fence making, some big hedge cutting, bowling at Centerparcs and lots more. Seeing my boy and Lois was lovely despite me being poorly that weekend.

Glorious Devon

On Monday we came back from a fabulous fews days away in Devon with our good friends the FT's. As we walked the exposed coastal paths to Budliegh Salterton and Exmouth - the hot spring sun shone and warmed us, taking the chill out of the wind as it howled its way across the exposed paths.

The red cliffs looked perilously fragile after the recent winter rain, in areas the soft sandstone had slipped, eroding great chunks of earth and grass from the cliff top edge.

A great time was had - thanks all.

  

A Friday night get together

Last night had a few friends around for a meal.  We cooked a beef stew and guests brought along starter and puds.  A great evening - rounded off with a sing along around the piano - singing such classics as 'It's a long way to Tipperary' to 'On Ilkley Moor Baht'at' - it was really lovely to hear it played again. Thanks Andy, Janie (piano player), Sharon, Chris, Lellie, Stevie, Simon and Liz.

Ah finished at last

Last week I wrapped up the bathroom - apart from some minor filling of pipe holes in the ceiling, the bathroom is done.  it looks great. so a big thank you to all of you that helped me get it there - Jerry FT, Sharon and Tim B.
